Randy Gene Moss

Randy Gene Moss (born February 13th, 1977) is an ex- American footballer. He was a former American footballer who played for 14 years within the National Football League (NFL) and was a part of the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. The most admired wide receiver in history together with Jerry Rice, he holds the NFL single-season touchdown reception record (23 in 2007) in addition to the NFL single-season record of touchdown receptions for a rookie (17 in 1998) and is ranked second in the NFL all-time regular season touchdown list, with 156. Moss was famous for his ability to secure catch contests and the term "mossed" has been incorporated into football's lexicon. Following his time in football began, he was hired as a studio analyst with ESPN for the Sunday NFL Countdown program and Monday Night Countdown. Moss was an Rand, West Virginia native. He attended DuPont High School, one of two schools later consolidated into Riverside High School, where he was a star in football, basketball and baseball as well as track. Randy was also on the school's debate team. Moss was the captain of the DuPont Panthers football team to two consecutive state championships in 1992, 1993. His star position was wide receiver. However, he also played free safety in punted kickoffs, as well as was the team's punter and kicker. In 1994, he was honored with the Kennedy Award as the West Virginia Football Player of the Year. Parade magazine named him to their All-American high school football teams in 1995. In 2009 they named him one of the 50 most outstanding high school football players of all-time.
